APG vNext provides a conversion utility to migrate your existing Web Wiz Forum data to APG vNext. This guide walks you through the conversion process.
Before You Start
- Install APG vNext on your server and complete the setup wizard.
- Back up both your Web Wiz Forum database and the new APG vNext database.
- Note the table prefix used by your Web Wiz installation (default is
wwf).
Running the Conversion
- In the APG vNext Admin Panel, navigate to Tools → Data Import → Web Wiz Forum.
- Enter the connection details for your Web Wiz database.
- Select which data to import: users, forums, topics, posts, attachments.
- Click Start Conversion. The process may take several minutes depending on the volume of data.
After Conversion
- Review imported user accounts — passwords cannot be migrated and users will need to reset their passwords.
- Check that forum categories and sub-forums were mapped correctly.
- Set up 301 redirects from old Web Wiz URLs to new APG vNext URLs to preserve SEO value.
