PGDCode Reset and Default Configuration in APG vNext
The PGDCode configuration in APG vNext controls specific display and behavior settings related to the forum's visual code presentation layer. Resetting PGDCode to default values is typically done when a forum upgrade has changed the expected configuration format and the existing values are causing rendering issues, or when custom configuration has produced unexpected behavior that needs to be rolled back to a known working baseline.
Accessing PGDCode Configuration
PGDCode settings are accessible through the APG vNext admin panel under the relevant display or theme configuration section. Depending on the APG vNext version, these settings may appear under Admin > Display Settings or within a theme configuration panel. The settings control formatting rules for post content display including how code blocks, preformatted text, and specific layout elements are rendered in the HTML output sent to the browser.
Reset to Default Process
To reset PGDCode to default values, use the Reset to Default button in the configuration panel. This restores all PGDCode settings to the values specified in the APG vNext installation for the current version. Before clicking Reset, document the current custom values if any changes were made intentionally and may need to be reapplied after the reset. After resetting, test the forum's post display by viewing several threads with different content types including code blocks, tables, and image attachments to verify the default settings produce the correct rendering for your community's content.
Post-Reset Configuration
After a reset, reapply any intentional customizations incrementally, testing after each change to identify which specific modification causes problems if issues recur. This diagnostic approach allows you to isolate problem configurations one by one rather than reapplying all customizations simultaneously and being unable to identify which one is responsible for any rendering issues that return after the reset process is complete.
